Are you one of those who like the musicals that retell historical events in a slightly different way, Queen Elizabeth Theatre has a fresh new play. The Broadway show Six — The Musical offers incredible music and a unique way of looking on the wives of Henry VIII. The audience experiences the power of women with a mesmerizing tale and the latest pop music.
loosely based on the frequent marriages of King Henry VIII, Six tells the tale of the King's six brides. Created by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss, Six presents the story as a singing competition in which each bride must tell their tales to the judges. The viewers watch as each woman seizes their own identity.
The show begins as each wife introduces themselves by performing a song. Only the bride who had to endure the most can become the band's lead singer. Despite fighting among themselves, the ladies finally recognize they can no longer let this king define them. And by the conclusion they sing together as a cohesive group.
The musical initially debuted in 2017, but Queen Elizabeth Theatre now presents the tour showing. Audiences rave about the play's innovation and dynamic advocacy. Fans love the breathtaking music, the message, and the happiness that the musical conveys.

"Six" is the retelling of the lives of the wives of King Henry VIII, who was a well-known king of England in the 1500s. During his four decades as king, he had six marriages. His desire to annul his first marriage led to the separation of the Church of England. Many people probably have heard of the story of Henry VIII. However, you may not know the story of his many wives.
The musical delves into the story of these six queens as they recount their individual experiences with the king. The queens try to decide who had the most awful experience in being married to the king. The queens discuss divorce, rejections, infidelity, and even beheadings in a way that makes you laugh while also touching your emotions. They even place a contemporary twist on the story by incorporating a dating app through a parody.
Together they realize that arguing over who had the toughest time with Henry VIII is not helpful. They come to realize that Henry VIII denied their individuality. They’re not just the six wives of a terrible king - they have their own strengths that deserve celebrating. The ex-wives eventually work together to write new endings to their lives. They achieve their “happily ever afters” that Henry VIII denied them by picturing what their lives would’ve been like without meeting Henry VIII.
