The theatrical rendition of Frozen reimagines the 2013 animated film with the same enthralling title. This stage performance integrates musical composition and songs by accomplished composers Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez, in addition to a compelling book crafted by acclaimed playwright Jennifer Lee. The impressive Broadway debut introduced itself in 2018 at the St. James Theatre.
The stage adaptation of Frozen explores the profound bond between royal siblings Anna and Elsa, two sisters with an endearing sibling connection. One of the sisters, Elsa, exhibiting the exceptional power to freeze people and objects, works to dominate her magical abilities. To ensure the safety of her loved ones and the complete realm of Arendelle, she spends her early life apart from her sister. Following the passing of their parents, Elsa takes to the throne. Yet, when her unique powers are revealed, she chooses to go away, causing Arendelle to plummet into an eternal winter.
While traversing the narrative, the destination holds some unexpected twists. Certain elements emerge unexpectedly and may not exactly fit seamlessly. However, the most remarkable revelation—the one that alters the dynamics in terms of conveying messages found in Disney animated classics across many decades—is deeply valuable not just for the young girls in the audience, but also for all spectators. It’s such an original notion that it evokes a wish for the entirety of the film to meet the equal brilliant standard,” noted critic Roger Ebert while discussing the Disney animated film.
Get ready for an outstanding winter musical treat with Frozen the Musical! This cherished family-friendly stage performance ushers in your favorite Disney characters onto the stage in a performance that surpasses expectations.
