For the first time since they came together, the most sought-after singers in the Indian music industry will reunite and perform at the pinnacle Bollywood musical event, “Forever Yaadein”. On August 27, 2023, the ensemble will perform their greatest hits and famous tracks that have moved listeners throughout the decades at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
Initially planned for June 4, the Vancouver Civic Theatres released a statement surrounding the concert’s delay to later this summer. “Due to unforeseen circumstances pertaining to Usha ji health, we regret to inform you that the Forever Yaadein Tour is being postponed to August 2023, and the new date for Vancouver Concert is August 27," they shared while apologizing for the inconvenience this has caused to people who have already bought tickets.
Jolly Mukherjee, also called India's "King of Strings," will be the concert's lead. His musical background includes a rich fusion of Hindustani classical music and Western influences, and he is best known for his work with the Madras Cinematic Orchestra, where he skillfully combines traditional and modern elements in his compositions.
Another star joining the ensemble is Sudesh Bhosle, an acclaimed playback vocalist and mimicry performer who is a member of the International Artist Melody Makers, India's top live orchestra. He previously served as a judge on Sony Entertainment Television's singing competition K for Kishore. Likewise, Suresh Wadkar is a playback vocalist who has earned praise for his ground-breaking performances in Hindi movies and his recognition for achieving the “Sangeet Natak Akademi Award” in 2018.
The only two girls in the ensemble, Sadhana Sargam and Usha Uthup, are well-known for their work in playback. Over the years, Sargam has won numerous national film awards; more of her well-known South Indian and Hindi songs date from the 1990s. Uthup, on the other hand, grew up in a musical environment despite not having official musical training, which finally led to her releasing surefire hits during the late 1960s.
Join Forever Yaadein as they rock the Queen Elizabeth Theatre with blasts from the past. With 2,765 seats and a prime position in Vancouver's downtown, the venue is one of the country's largest proscenium theatres. The event is presented by Blue Peacock Entertainment, Sunray Group, MAA Developments, and YRD Group.
Savor the distinct sound of each of these musicians as they interweave the rich fabric of their Indian musical traditions! While there are still tickets available, reserve your seats now!
