Known for his ability to form a choir of hundreds of thousands of people in his live shows, Jacob Collier is switching things up. Following 2020's massive release of Vol.3 of his Djesse series, the man scored 11 nominations and won 5 Grammys for the groundbreaking album. Now, he's gearing up for the grand release of the final installment of the acclaimed musical adventure. Announcing his biggest North American tour yet, the man is heading to Vancouver for The Djesse Solo Show at Queen Elizabeth Theatre.
Jacob Collier is set to release the final installment to his Djesse series on February 29. Vol.3 saw a star-studded set of collaborators including Tori Kelly, Rapsody, T-Pain, Jessie Reyez, Daniel Caesar, Kimbra, and so forth. Unveiling its official tracklist and new collaborators, the fourth volume to the acclaimed musical series is set to become a hit! Djesse's grand finale includes collaborative tracks with Aespa, Coldplay's Chris Martin, Anoushka Shankar, John Mayer, Shawn Mendes, and many more.
Known for his experimental styles infusing jazz with a wide array of genres, the man is spicing things up as he concludes the day with an album series inspired by each day's different phases.
Sharing a glimpse of the new record, Collier shared a video for "Witness Me" featuring Shawn Mendes, Stormzy, Kirk Franklin, and a massive choir. Known for leading "audience choirs" conducting fans in harmony, his new single features thousands of audience members singing along.
"The song began its journey back in 2021, when Shawn and I got together to throw some paint in Malibu," he shared. "We bonded over our love of gospel music, joyous communal gatherings and creating music for more than ourselves."
Jacob Collier takes music to heart. Motivated by the world's harsh realities and sparking change, his craft speaks volumes about the power people hold in making a better world. "In a time where there are countless divisive forces around the world, my hope is that this song can act as a reminder of the power people hold to come together and really see each other, carry each other and bear witness to life in all its colours," he explained.
Previously, the man also shared a new song "Little Blue" with Brandi Carlie. The heartfelt ballad has definitely touched our hearts. "‘Little Blue’ is such a gorgeous song and Jacob is a generational talent," Carlie shared in a statement, via Billboard. "I spend an embarrassing amount of time following him and studying his mind-bendingly beautiful music. Getting to climb inside of it and be a part of his creation is a wonderful twist of fate."
